Lovely story in the news today. Could this rare fungus have been brought back to Scotland by WWI shell-shocked soldiers? Of course, I'd like it to have been young Wilfred's boots that brought it.

I picked this wonderful book up at a second hand book stall in Bristol. It's brilliant. Such a moving depiction of sheer decency and bravery in wartime.
