At last I'm reading War Horse

I'd been reluctant to try it, given how naff the film was, but I succumbed.

It's wonderful. Charming, well written, extremely moving; I'm savouring it chapter by chapter. Will reflect more later this week, although I am reminded of "The Horse and his Boy" for all sorts of reasons, all of which are good.

I've never seen the film, but read the book because it was part of the collection in a house we stayed at in the summer. I was reminded of A Horse And His Boy too. :)

The film does no credit to the book, although I understand the theatre show is good.
