I lived on LJ for years. I opened a DW account almost as soon as they started but still kept LJ as my default. But I gradually found more and more friends migrating so I migrated too. I cross-post but really, there are only a couple of people I follow now on LJ. I downloaded (and closed) my two 'muse' journals which formed the core of one of my book series. Copy pasting from the downloads was really hard work but worth it. I have too many 'issues' now with LJ to use it as a primary site but I have a permanent account so unless they throw me off, I'm still there! (Same user name.) I found their image handling a lot easier, and I liked the ease of changing themes etc. Also, it was nice having everybody in one place... But those days are long gone!
