I have a fictional blister that agrees with you mightily...five thousand extra words, but it made the end of the story!

(I don't even have much of an arc, let alone a plan, when I start writing ;) )

I know where I want to go and some of the stops I'd like to make along the way but the route is infinitely variable. Sadly this means that I start with a simple story that should be about 50K words and end up with a fiendishly complicated one that scares me to contemplate.

I wish, I really wish, I could write short.
