That's me, hiding in the corner...

I hate making a hoo-hah, so am just noting that Lessons in Temptation is up for best historical book 2009 over at Love Romance Cafe. Am up against the wonderful Captain's Surrender by [livejournal.com profile] alex_beecroft - I think we're the only two m/m romances on the list. We were going to fight it out, duel style, weapons of choice being large fish but decided to eat the fish with chips and peas, instead.

Ee, thanks love. This is the one part of the job I can't get to grips with, the 'Ooh look at me'. Maybe we could job share - I promo you and vice versa.

Co-op promo might be a great idea. My attitude toward the task is, "here's my book, I try to write well, hope you like it." Bragging on myself... just doesn't come naturally.

*nods* Whereas I could promo you or the other wrinklings till the cows come home.

seriously? Because that would be awesome. Let me get an audience first, but I'd love to promo you!

(I'm super-uncomfortable promo-ing myself. It just seems...hubristic?)

(Plz forgive weird spellings or grammar. I'm about two sheets to the wind. For obvious reasons.)

Only two? Oh Scotland - it's supposed to be snatch victory from the jaws of defeat, not...

Hubris indeed. There must be some way we can promo each other (or the 4/5 of us get together and work out a system). It could be great.

It'd be brilliant.

now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to quietly expire in a corner on top of my kebab. And figure out if I have enough energy to go out and help my Irish friends recover.
