2) I have royalties. Small, in the greater scheme of things, but I can't remember when such a neat little sum gave me so much pleasure. Note to all budding authors; this is a huge thrill.

I often feel that way about my job. I'm working towards getting to feel that way about my writing, too. I'll have to, you know, actually edit something enough to send it to a publisher first, but I'm getting there. *wry grin*
