Woodhall spa - part the second

The highlight of our second day was a visit to see the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight at RAF Conningsby, which is a working airbase so our day was punctuated with Eurofighters being out through their noisy paces. (We also caught a glimpse of Michael Portillo in his extraordinarily garish trousers!).



Loved the Lancaster (although it's not my fave Lanc) and can at last tell a Hurricane from a Spitfire by its outline. Also learned all about impellors and developments in the Merlin engines. Also liked all the mechanics tinkering about!
