Please trust me!

All Lessons Learned, the eighth (but I hope not the last) Cambridge Fellows Book is on the coming soon page at Samhain.

Has a gorgeous cover (don't forget this is 1919 and the lads are older)

Now, when you read this blurb, all I'll say is trust me, please. As the warning says, it's a three hankie story, two of which you’ll need for the happy ending.

The Great War is over. Freed from a prisoner of war camp and back at St. Bride’s College, Orlando Coppersmith is discovering what those years have cost. All he holds dear—including his beloved Jonty Stewart, lost in combat.

A commission to investigate a young officer’s disappearance gives Orlando new direction…temporarily. The deceptively simple case becomes a maze of conflicting stories—is Daniel McNeil a deserter, or a hero?—taking Orlando into the world of the shell-shocked and broken. And his sense of Jonty’s absence becomes painfully acute. Especially when a brief spark of attraction for a Cambridge historian, instead of offering comfort, triggers overwhelming guilt.

As he hovers on the brink of despair, a chance encounter on the French seafront at Cabourg brings new hope and unexpected joy. But the crushing aftereffects of war could destroy his second chance, leaving him more lost and alone than ever…

*gulps* I adore these two ... they're some of my favorite characters and this... *lip wobbles* I know you said trust you but now I'm torn. I want to read this but honestly I may have to wait until I can take the potential heartbreak. I trust that Jonty likely appears "back from the dead" at the end so to speak but that's a lot of angst in between so wow... wow.

WOW!

Bravo to you for going there.. just not sure I can follow immediately. Though the heads up helps.

BTW I love the cover. They're all beautiful but this one particularly so.

Brave, yes - but it had to be done. despite my eldest daughter insisting I make them move to Ireland where the sconscription Act didn't apply or work in Room 40 for the whole of the war...

I think this cover is one of Scott's best.
