Are we in the shire?

As previously reported, was watching Sarries vs Quins, and couldn't help being struck by the preponderance of hobbit type surnames. Trayfoot. Wigglesworth. Ashton. Hargreaves. Hopper. So I had a look at the teams for the games on today. Dollman. Shoemark. Yeandle. Scaysbrook. Ewers. Barrow. Hogg. Twelvetrees. Stooke.

No wonder I love my rugby...

Great names-- I especially like Wigglesworth and Trayfoot.

Those were the very two who got me searching. Wigglesworth's name is so long they have to abbreviate it on his shirt. :)

LOL! Hobbits, after all, were English.

You can see where Tolkein got his inspiration.

Billy Twelvetrees is a hero of ours. His nickname is "thirty six". LOL
