Speak Its Name - cover art

Just over a fortnight to go to launch. You can find the cover here and handsome it is!

Loverly! Am so proud of you, m'dear.

(Mind you, the red letters at the beginning also spell 'sin.' Was that intentional, do you think?)

Loverly is the very best word for it. Ah yes, SIN. *g* We thought it would be both eye-catching and thought provoking. (It's been good working with both [livejournal.com profile] erastes and [livejournal.com profile] lee_rowan as they have a wealth of experience and ideas.)

It is certainly both of those. *grin* Makes you wonder whether it's a societal norm, the viewpoint of the story, the angst of the main characters, or an invitation. *chuckle*

We weren't keen on the red-initials-only, but the cover designer insisted. I think our readers are smart enough to catch the joke without assist.

*snickers and decides to take that as a compliment* It might be a little less blatant if it were a slightly less glaring color--burgundy or somesuch. Does your designer compromise? (Not like I care much, as it's the innards which appeal most to me, but as I do some graphics design myself, I can't help but turn it over in my head. *grin*)

The Dallas-nail-varnish red is a bit 'obvious' isn't it?

Rest perhaps best to discuss off journal. :)

I'd never invite anyone to sin.. *g*

What a shame. *grin*

It looks smashing! So very proud of you! *bounces*

Aw, thanks. I'm pretty proud of myself. Nervous, but proud. (It really is worse than having a baby!)

This is sooooooo exciting... You must be thrilled to see it in black and white (and red). Are you taking advance orders?

[identity profile] charliecochrane.livejournal.com 2008-05-13 02:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm delighted. (We actually had the artwork ages ago but have had to keep it under our hats.)

It's not yet up on the 'Coming Soon' list at Linden Bay - were you thinking paper copy? Once it's a real book I'd be happy to do some sort of purchase-from-me scheme. (Isn't that exciting!)

[identity profile] lee-rowan.livejournal.com 2008-05-13 03:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Black and white and red all over.... I didn't see that one coming!

Zebra in a blender?

[identity profile] oxbridge.livejournal.com 2008-05-13 05:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Will it be in E-book format first? If so I'll have to buy that, because I'm too impatient to wait for a paper copy. But I'll happily purchase a paper copy from you - signed copy of course!

[identity profile] charliecochrane.livejournal.com 2008-05-13 08:02 pm (UTC)(link)
E-book should be out 1st June (glorious first!) and then the paper copy about a month or so afterwards.

Sign it? I'll cover it in kisses!
