Sign of bad weather to come?

Just been watching a flock of redwings feasting on any holly berries which the gales have left. I remember pa-in-law warning me that if redwings come into gardens then bad weather is en route. Apparently fieldfares appearing is even more of a pessimistic sign.

Redwings and fieldfares do come down into the UK every winter. Possibly the origin of the link to bad weather could be that they move down if the weather further north is too cold for them. It must be a lovely sight, though!

That makes sense. And yes, they were gorgeous. About 8 of them at one point! xx

If you're due the rain we've had, stay indoors ;-)

It's been a bit 'orrible, but at least it's stopping for a few hours every so often so the floods can drain off the roads before the next front swings in...

Ew. We've not had bad rain here, but the wind has been horrendous.
