I haven't the faintest idea how I got that. Must be a cloned brain thing. I would have asked for a slightly sensible Starbucks schnoz measurer but I have one of those now. But I might need THE nose... *g*

Absolutely agree on the reading of old newspapers, magazines, advertisements, and other amusing texts. So much fun! I found some old newspapers wrapped around something stored not that long ago--don't remember what I did with them, but I loved reading through the personals and ads column! The number of people selling horses was astonishing.

So much fun indeed and IMHO as, if not more, instructive as/than wading through reams of research about a historical period. Papers, magazines, old books, they give such a 'sense' of the time.

Why doesn't it count? If we're saying that research is paramount in writing fiction then it should be praised! :)

calavarna beat you to it but, as she seems to want Scott Gill's nose as a prize (which is completely unfeasible!) you can have the runner-up's award. I have some nice odds and ends (like Manloveromance lip salve) you can have if you e-mail me your snail mail addy.

Interesting article. Nothing quite like the papers of the time for invoking the feeling of the day. I have a stash mum and dad brought over from England with us - including some from *that* date *g*
Among my prized possessions of course.

I wish I'd kept all my Shoot, Dandy and Beano's but hubby would have a cow for I am a wee bit of a hoarder and he's a bit of a minimalist
:-) and Ebay is evil for one's hobbies I bought some wonderful old mags off it.
