I have discovered the cure for migraine!

A great lump of metal through your tyre (your only just replaced a week ago tyre). Having to put your spare on by the side of the road. Cured the migraine but I'm not sure I want to repeat it. No sympathy, please - am being Dunkirk spirit about it.

In other news, some good results for GLBT review sites over at the Preditors and Editors poll, and both Lessons in Trust and All That Jazz ended up just outside the top ten in their category.

I'm impressed!! Last time I tried to change a tyre I couldn't get the ruddy nuts off.

I wonder if it was where I'd had it changed last week, that they'd made sure the nuts were only hand tight. Jumping on the wheelbrace helps, of course...

I'm impressed too. I turn into a complete wimp when it comes to changing tyres anywhere other than at home. Although I've only really had punctures happen on motorways and {ETA:} more than once while doing 70 (honest, guv).

I'm not sure I'd have been so gung ho if I'd been on the M27 - although it was nearside, so not so traumatic.

Hopefully no more flat tires for you! I'm afraid I would have either had to wait for roadside service (Triple A) or relied on the kindness of strangers. The last time I attempted to change a tire, I broke the jack and almost my car! So, decided the roadside service was worth the extra $$s right then and there.

In other news, wanted to let you know that a good friend and I are avid Cambridge Fellows fans, and of course, we both picked up All Lessons Learned. I've yet to crack open a page. I know it will end well, and I really trust you to make it so, but I'm a wuss and have to be in the mood for a good cry. And I know this is going to make me cry. But my friend? Already finished it.

She tells me: You knew I'd come home from work and read this in one sitting. No spoilers as I know you haven't read yet but I wanted to let you know it's very very good. There is a happy ending, but I was already sniffly by page 18 of it. Definitely a several hankies worth story.

So so good though.

No kindness of strangers for me. Nobody stopped to help. :(

I'm so glad your friend enjoyed the book. I took a real risk with this one, but the story had to be told.
