What inspired you to start writing?

My inspiration for writing probably goes back to my two grandmothers. Both women had strong influences on me while I was growing up. They both loved to read and shared that love with their children. Both also liked to tell stories and could tell some amazing stories to anyone who would listen. Both were widowed young and left with children to raise. Both were fiercely independent fighters. A Charioteer drabble

As peeps are having trouble accessing the site, here it is:

Notes: I was inspired by the idea of "The Consequences of Love". I apologise if this is on the sad side for the day. The other idea I had was even sadder...

“You still think of him.”
“Who?” Laurie said, just a shade too quickly.
“The boy. From the hospital.” Ralph kept his head over the pile of vegetables, as though the only important thing was working them—and the scraps of meat—into something worth eating.
Laurie didn’t bother to argue. “Do you ever think of Alex? Or Bunny?” Or the string of others, unnamed or half whispered in sleep.
“Not if I can help it. Make your choice and move on, that’s the best way.”
Laurie let the arm he slipped around Ralph’s waist speak. He couldn’t trust his tongue.
