Wendy is one of my 'met first in real life before online' writing mates, who I got to know through the Deadly Dames events. We were both at the southern chapter meeting of the Society of Women Writers and Journalists (name drop, name drop) when she agreed to be my guest.

So, Wendy, what inspired you to start writing?

I've written since I was a teenager at school.  I read every Famous Five book in the school library, and wanted to write my own adventure stories.  I won an English competition when I was eleven, writing about drought in Australia.  I must have had a good imagination even then.  I was told that I'd won the competition because of my details of the drought.  Not bad, considering I'd never been to the country.( Read more... )
