WWI commemoration - 4th August
Aug. 4th, 2015 04:35 pmThree years ago today, the Cochranes were in the Olympic stadium for Super Saturday, the most successful day ever for British athletes in the Olympics. Ennis, Rutherford, Farah all won gold medals and we still can't quite believe we were present to witness the events. I'd forgotten it was the anniversary of that date, until my Ros reminded me.
4th August has seen some significant events over the years. Among others, the arrest of Anne Frank, the capture of Gibraltar, the destruction of the temple in Jerusalem and, of course, the start of WWI. So easy to forget these dates, so important to remember.
