Am delighted with the cover art for Dreams of a Hero, the story I've got out from Carina in February. Isn't it pretty?

It's lovely. There are a lot of gaudy, flash covers for gay fiction; it's good to see something so quietly attractive.

BTW, the next entry after yours on my f'list has a link to an article about an e-petition to pardon Alan Turing.

Here it is: http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/the-northerner/2011/dec/05/alan-turing-universityofmanchester

Thanks for the link. I've just started reading yet another book about Turing. such a complex bloke.

And thanks also for the kind words about the cover. It really is handsome.

Very nice. Really classy. And a bit of flesh without going the usual huge naked torso route. Lovely. :)

That's exactly what I thought. And it evokes all sorts of aspects of the story.

Partly in Greece, partly in Surrey but mainly in Massachusetts. (The picture is Massachusetts, the place I had in mind when I wrote the story.)

Ah, I thought so by the pic. One of the places I would so love to visit in the US.

Just finished "Wolves" btw and I laughed myself silly. Way to go Charlie!

Thank you, on both counts. I provided pictures of rugby players for my characters so they were bound to end up manly!

And if you laughed at "Wolves" then that's great - exactly the effect I wanted. *hugs*

It's gorgeous. I love the stone carving top right especially (almost as much as the boys). Presumably the rest of it also relates to the plot / location? Tell us more!

The stone carving and the modern seaside bit both relate to plot and setting. About to poist the blurb, but basically it's about two guys who go on holiday to Greece, one of whom starts having dreams about the Theban band. These begin to change his character.

Oh, that's very nice - very classy. Carina do very good cover art, I've noticed. I've yet to see a bad one from them.

Also, yay, Alexander the Great! :)

Alexander is both peripheral and intrinsic to the story. :)

And yes, they male a really good cover.
