I don't know if all writers get this, but there are times I think "Why do I bother? Nobody wants to read what I write..." Then I get an e-mail which makes me realise it's all worthwhile.

Just this week have had two lovely messages (both from charming gay men) saying nice things about my stories. Just the best feeling in the world.

Oh how I agree with you. Even if the person responding doesn't really like your work or doesn't agree with something, it's better than being ignored. I was having my blog posted to Facebook, and not one friend commented or 'liked'. Sooooo soul destroying. Then earlier this week I had two lovely comments about my first ever M/M historical story and I was up there with Icarus. Lol. So yes, it is a bloody wonderful feeling. (((hugs))) and pleased for you on emails.

I'm so pleased for you.

It happens sometimes, though. People will read and are busy and think "I'll comment later" and then they don't. Or they're snowed under with blog stuff and just skim read.

I know what you mean about comments. I love them, especially from all the writers who write stories that I get to enjoy!

*nods* That's one of the reasons I love HH fandom - so supportive.

Good for you! And I'm sure your sales figures would beg to differ about nobody wanting to read what you write. ;)

It's lovely, though, when people take the trouble to get in touch and tell you they liked your stuff!

It makes me feel better to know that it's not just me who feels that way, and especially from someone like you who is such a good writer and has such a lot out there - I hope that came across the way the right way?

That is a great feeling, isn't it? Makes those icky doubts dissolve into thin air.

It came across just as I think you intended. Sometimes other authors seem so confident in themselves - they write so prolifically and I feel a bit overwhelmed.

Cor, I sound a right wimp!

In't it just? and great when the cheery message arrives at the optimum time.
