Beare is a delight. I am intrigued by his vegetable metaphors. (Not going to ask him about use of actual foods!) Is the veggie thing an English approach?

I don't know. We certainly refer to men's parts as 'meat and two veg' sometimes. And we love double entendre so make use of any strange words that sound a bit rude or suggest rudery!

Pffft! The Carry On team would never stoop to such levels! I'm intrigued, are we ever going to have a chance to hear from Poll herself? She must have seen a few sights! Several times over if himself is to be believed....

She has indeed. I'd love to write Poll's POV, but am torn between that and keeping her rather like Mrs Mannering, Sheridan Bucket and Mrs Slocombe's pussy - strictly offscreen.
