charlie_cochrane: (old time winter)

So we wake up to a “whump!” at 6am, to discover that a van had gone into the fence opposite (then drove off without so much as a note through their door). Yes, the predicted snow has arrived, so “snow day”declared and important things like making snowmen and baking bread have ensued.

News:

First review for Promises Made Under Fire, which is exciting seeing as it’s not out for another month. It’ll also be an audio title, of which more news when I have it.

Don’t forget you can get your e-books “Authorgraphed”.All mine should be listed at my books page, but if I’ve missed any, please shout and I’ll put it right.

Plans for UK meet are moving on apace. Registration is open, the programme is coming together and the first batch of attendees is booked and processed! We're delighted to say we'll be having author pitch sessions, probably on the Sunday morning. We're also looking to have one or two link up events with Sparkle who are in town that same weekend. The lovely Liam Livings (pin up boy of the 2012 Meet) has blogged about it - well worth reading.

Inspiration:

The garden of Cochrane Towers in the snow and our snowman, Cuthbert, who my Ros reckons is a little old gay man.

Is it my fault that I can't see the pretty pictures? What do I need on my computer? (I have a Mac.)

What a lovely review!

He's looking a little drunken today, as if he's about to keel over backwards.

The little close across the road has two igloos in it!

Cuthbert is a sweetie! I am very jealous. We have not a single flake of snow, though it's barely got above freezing for the last three days :(

It's actually got much less cold since the snow arrived. Maybe it's acting as some form of insulation. (But it was so bright last night - any bit of light reflected!)

Cuthbert is a very traditional looking snowman. I like his stick arms. Your snow is so pretty. I love when it has just fallen and is all clean. Hope it lasts long enough to be fun, and goes quickly away when you are done frolicking.

It's already getting slushy. We did think about building an igloo but think another snowball fight might suffice.

Cuthbert is delighted you think he's traditional He doffs his hat to you.

People really don't do snow well round here. I went to the supermarket earlier for two or three items I'd run out of, and it was rammed with people stocking up for the Impending Doom. Then I realised I had no bread rolls or spreads for next week so I went to other supermarket and that was just as bad.

Do you have UK Meet fliers you can give me next week? I can leave them liberally around the place at Redemption.

I know, it's barmy. We did our normal big shop at Waitrose yesterday and it was blissfully quiet. I think they'd done all their shopping on Thursday.

I'll chase those fliers up right now.
