Thinking of England today. She's a lovely, welcoming, mixed up and muddled place but I love her. Sort of apropos that I was tidying Billy up yesterday; my mate John was around and gave me some cyclamens which had been dumped, for me to put on the grave.

He also persuaded me to do some research into the men listed on our great war memorial. hardly started and I;m already sniffly.

Still, on a wonderfully irreverent and St. George related note:

Yes, I love my country as well despite its faults. The grave is looking lovely, Charlie. I'd love to visit it some time and pay me respects, bless him....and you for looking after him so well. 😘

Aw, thank you. It feels like a gift, rather than a chore.

The lt looks a little like Hugh Laurie.

I suppose there is no end to stuff coming out of the ground in France. You will always get something with your metal detector.

*nods* It's extraordinary how they can link back to families. So many men whose bodies were never found...

Had to listen and giggle again.

It reminds me of 'I think we should tax all foreigners living abroad.'

Very pretty plants there.

And a fun song too.

Actually your post about Billy also reminds me that I also have to tell you on Sunday about my quest to sort out the Fitz-Osbert side of my saga.
