The Amazon fiasco has had lots of them.

GLBT romance getting £££s worth of free publicity, including product placements on mainstream TV. [livejournal.com profile] alex_beecroft, [livejournal.com profile] markprobst and [livejournal.com profile] erastes (and me a bit) getting their names all over the shop, and appearing dignified and sensible in the process.

And, as I searched for non Amazon UK sites to put on my website, I found that my books are listed at both Blackwell's and Waterstones.

Yes. I was accused on a German forum of "viral marketing for my friends" - so that's an accusation we'll hear more of.

But congrats! I'm happy that The List was linked all over the world.

And well done you for getting on the case.

I'm waiting for someone to say we did it all for publicity, so the above post is more than a little tongue in cheek. I think the way the protags handled it will be greatly to 'our' (meaning m/m readers and writers) credit.

I do think so. And - all the post are visible, so people can follow how *our* discussion developed, too. That's the good thing about the Internet - you can leave a paper trail like that.

Anytime someone succeeds - especially when it's against an adversary that others shy away from - there will be somebody sneering. In this case it's quite obvious that the "glitch" occurred first and we waited until we had clear evidence that something was up before reacting.

M/M writers know that it's not good to go off half-cocked.

*groan*

I should have known you couldn't resist that sort of line.

And you're right about the sequence of events and we have the audit trail to prove it.
