I picked up The Freaks of Mayfair by E F Benson from our local Oxfam shop. Really amusing little book, a social commentary on types of people - the social climber, the snob - who are still around today. Very little changes, even in a hundred years. People are still people.

"Aunt Georgie" is an interesting chap. Possibly the first mention of the archetypal gay best friend?

I love his Mapp and Lucia books, but I haven't seen this one. He lived in the most gorgeous house in Rye - want!
