I know there are some Marlowe fans among my pals, so you'll be delighted to see that all his works are being performed! And if you're interested in either crimes past or finding a new insult to hurl, you could do worse than start here.

Splendid!! This makes me so happy. I wonder if there will be recordings made of the performances? Maybe it will spur a whole new appreciation of Marlowe. I mean, I know he is appreciated now, but even more would be better.

And the court records sound really stunning. They kept a tight leash on those young men, didn't they? I mean they still managed to find trouble, but their movements were so restricted. Not like students of today, who are able to roam at will, drinking and fornicating and attending sporting events!

I often think of the part in Faustus where Faustus says that he is going to let scholars wear whatever they want. Unlimited power, and he uses it for new clothes. Dr Faustus is such a self insertion, yu can tell those restrictions made Marlowe chafe.

The restrictions on students were extraordinary, even just a hundred years ago. Actually they were fairly strict back in the 1970's!
