Much as I love him, Ioan does a horrible USA accent. It makes me want to rip my ears off. Jamie does a much better one. (No surprise, his dad is from the US I think.)
Hugh L does a good one, and Dominic West does too.
I have had to get a second opinion on the supposed nationality of some characters in films because they've missed the accent by half a planet.
Geography gaffs are another of my pet peeves - if you are going to write about a country you don't know then use a map! If you head north from London you don't get to Cornwall unless your navigation skills are so bad they should be in the Guinness Book of Records.
LOL. Yes, I've struggled in the same way. South African? Jamaican? Welsh?
And in re the second, do you remember the dreadful Robin Hood with Kevin Costner? Arriving on the south coast then walking to Nottingham all in a day! Because England is the size of a shoebox...
