There's one at Rainbow Reviews here, which says of Aftermath:

"Cochrane writes in an appealing style that charges and intensifies the experience for readers. I look forward to his future works."

I'm quite tickled that they think I'm a bloke.

And at 'Speak Its Name' (no relation!) here which says:

"Much praise to the author – whose first professional story this is – for making that happy ending so very much desired while also showing how unlikely, even impossible, it could seem. You can see both young men growing up even in so short a space."

It's great getting reviews - the good bits make you happy and the bad bits you learn from.

Thank you. I think it's like beta; you have to take the bouquets and brickbats together.

One day you'll be getting reviews, eh? And I shall come and squee. :)

*nods* Yeah and you're right about the bad reviews. They help you learn.

I hope that day comes eventually.

Congratulations!!! You should be so proud and you know, they are all nothing less than you deserve. you truly have the gift!!! Of course it's hard having to share you and your talent with the world but I wouldn't deprive others the chance to read your work for anything!!!!

You're too kind, honey lamb. (And I promise you'll continue to get the first peek at anything that's going. You're part of the reason I tried to get things published in the first place!)

I'm a little puzzled by the use of "claustrophobic" as a description (twice, egad, in a 200-word review) particularly since the work is a novella, so the action is necessarily condensed. I don't recall any other people with speaking parts other than the college porter, but given the intimacy of the situation, there really don't need to be.

Maybe it's the lofty Oxford atmosphere. "Cloisterphobic makes perfect sense."

'Cloisterphobic fiction' - that'd be a great strap line for St Bride's.

I'm still at the point of feeling happy that none of the reviews so far have said "this is a total load of crap and don't touch it with a barge pole".

If anyone does, we can assume the reviewer has mixed up her titles. I don't think Barb buys crap.

Anti-histamines seem to be working regarding my need to rip skin off my bones :-) Who would be a woman - this menopause thing is the PITS!

You and your writing have provided such endless delight and pleasure, no one deserves this more than you do.

Synchronised licking far more interesting than netball LOL - would be much better if human Horry and Archie were involved in the sport though *g*
