At a time when our genre is being rocked by yet another plagiarism case and yet another example of catphishing, can I just state I'm incredibly grateful for the people I know in the genre who never act with less than integrity and honesty. You are too many to list but I know who you are.

And just to bring some light and love:

...aaaand now I'm weeping <3 That song is so beautiful.

When I was talking with RJ Scott in Sep, she said that m/m had drama just like in fandom...but Holy Hell, she wasn't kidding, was she?

Is it always like this, or has it just been a couple of rough months? I'm actually getting a little terrified to publish tbh xx

It's a great song.

m/m has always had its share of drama; way back when I started there were similar scandals, although there seem to be a spate of them now. Maybe it's because the genre (authors, publishers and readers) has got bigger so there's statistically more of a chance of encountering bad eggs.

Don't be afraid to publish. We need more people of integrity in the business. Stick with us, kid and you'll be fine. (And develop a nice, thick, cynical skin!)

It's all over FB. I think the phising is referenced here in the comments and the plagiarism should be, too. (I;ve forgotten what I read where!)

That link doesn't get me anywhere, I think it may be limited view or something. Is it this woman Harper (?) who's mentioned in a Guardian article? She must be nuts if she thought she wouldn't get caught.

The catphishing was Missy Welsh, who;d set up a blog where she posted/commented as several blokes. See if this works: https://www.facebook.com/kade.adam/posts/10153159329321960

The plagiarism is new - Addison summat or other who'd nicked a pile of books.
