This here orchid was dying a death when Cathy left it here 15 months ago and I have managed to resurrect it. No idea how - never had an orchid and just treat it like all the other house plants.

Yep, just like a houseplant is the best way to treat a phalaenopsis. They do die back a bit & then have a fresh burst of growth & flowering etc., like most plants :-)

There's an "Orchid Expert" book in the old D.G. Hessayon (sp?) "Garden Expert" series for when you want to know more about trimming air roots or re-potting / root pruning if it gets crowded in its pot. I've had our orchid in the same pot all the time I've had it (I think 4 years) and it seems to survive...

Ooh, thanks for the heads up. I think I'll just keep on keeping on with it as it is for the moment. About to post more pics!
