You can find a Jonty and Orlando Christmas Special here: My True Love Sent to Me.

The spirit of romance is ailing in the Coppersmith Stewart household. A snippet:-

“Everyone seems to be receiving little love tokens at the moment,” Jonty went on. “Miss Peters is getting a non-stop supply of chocolates from some chap down at St. Thomas's, who has declared undying love for her. She takes them down to the orphanage and watches the little tykes eat them, so they reach the intended recipients. Are you listening?”

“Yes. Chocolates. Thomas's. Tykes.” Orlando never looked up.

“Time was when you used to bring me little doo-dads. Mint Lumps. Champagne...” Jonty's voice trailed off, a sign he hoped his lover would pick up that all was not well.

But Orlando was preoccupied as usual. “Hm? I believe I may have done. Yes.”

“Oh to hell with it. Believe you may have done? Perhaps it was another lover then, Orlando, who sent me those trifles, and I've got the two of you confused.”

Have downloaded it, but not read it yet. Have writing to do. It'll be my treat once I've finished that.

It's more I'd get hopelessly distracted if I read your story before I worked on my fics. :D

I'm going to let a certain mathematician read this one. She didn't leave the college today until they locked the building for the holiday. A hint never hurts. Though on second thought, we have no Miss Peters and I do not want hens and pigeons flapping around the house... Thank you, it's a wonderful story!

:) Glad you liked it.

You won't need a Miss P - the story itself would be hint enough.

BTW Does that certain person possess a sliderule?

Yes, believe it or not - her dad was an engineer, and it's the one he used to keep in his workshop. And she actually knows how to use the blasted thing.

She's a star.

We have one, too - the girls used to play 'shoe shops' with it when younger - makes a great foot measure.

He's a Kiwi!
And he is upside down so he can see you lot loitering about in the Northern hemisphere (the original road sign was around the other way *g*).

Hey - it must be Christmas Day for you. Happy Christmas! (Off to make my daughters jealous that I've wished someone the real thing.

Hee! I am saving this for tomorrow (it's late and I really need to sleep). Thankyou kindly, I'm sure it will be a treat. :)

I just managed to finish reading 'Lessons in Temptation' yesterday after all the rellies went home. I started reading it earlier in the week but was sadly interrupted by Christmas preparations. I must admit, I was a little shocked at Jonty, but at the same time I suppose many people in committed and loving relationships get smacked over the head with lust for a third party sometimes, and with no frame of context and no past experience it would seem like a horribly shocking and guilt-worthy thing. And oh but I wanted to punch Jimmy Harding right it his smug little face (or maybe a bit lower down). I was waiting for someone (preferably Jonty, but anyone would have suited me) to do it right through the story. The murder itself was well done, and I only worked out the answer as the fellows did so (although the clues were there throughout, and I can see them more clearly in retrospect). The epilogue was sweet too, it's nice to know the boys can go away for a holiday without attracting any drama. :D

My pleasure - and thank you for the kind words.

I tried to make Jonty true to life. Just because you're on a diet doesn't mean you can't look in the baker's shop and sometimes the other cakes look so tempting...

Without attracting any drama? I have some short stories about their time in France which I'm keeping for when they misbehave themselves...

I read it today, and as expected it was adorable, and left me with an incredibly dorky smile on my face. :D

I think my own shock came mostly as a result of his own. He was racked with so much guilt and wretchedness that it seemed as if his transgression was greater than it really was, because in his own mind it was huge - being attracted to another man was tantamount to acting on that attraction. On that note, it's kind of sad that he had no-one who was perhaps a little more worldly and knowledgable on such matters to talk it all over with (but hooray for Miss Peters). I keep wondering if one or other of his parents might have been equipped to discuss it with him, despite his own conviction that they'd condem him in the same way that he was condemning himself, as an adulterer.

I have some short stories about their time in France which I'm keeping for when they misbehave themselves...
Oh? So they were not entirely forthcoming in their little notes to people? *grins* I look forward to reading these.

I'd love to see that dorky smile - probably like the one Jonty's wearing by the fireside.

I think Jonty got himself into a total tizz. He'd never expected to feel tempted, he'd probably condemened anyone who felt that way (that's his father coming out) and then 'bam' it hits him. So the guilt isn't just about what he feels it's the whole 'hypocrisy' thing. I think (Jonty is too complex for me to understand at times.)

I'll post them sometime next year. Orlando's opinion on the Venus de Milo and what happened on the beach with the other bloke...
