Mine are almost 15, and almost 22. I think it is like that moment when you feel a carnival ride slowing. You are still going around and around, but the speed is reducing. The particular fun of the ride is almost over.

I felt the same way when I realized nobody needed me to tie their shoe or pick them up any more. The help from then on would be given to the insides, not the bodies.

Interesting analogy to the carnival ride. I think I have more fun (usually!) than I used to as they grow older.
